Eric M. Gruzen

Partner

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Eric’s journey to the practice of law was deeply influenced by his father, a longtime civil litigation attorney. Earning his law degree in 2002, Eric practiced construction and commercial law and later transitioned to primarily representing corporations in employment lawsuits at a large national defense firm. Though successful, Eric grew disillusioned with using his skills to defend companies accused of violating worker rights. In 2018, he decided to switch sides and bring his insider knowledge to help employees fight back against unlawful and unjust treatment.

Eric joined a leading plaintiff’s employment law firm, where he could dedicate his practice to only representing workers in discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wage theft cases. Eric has litigated hundreds of lawsuits against Fortune 500 companies and government entities and secured millions of dollars in settlements and compensation for his clients who faced discrimination and other unlawful actions by their employers.

In his role as a co-founder of Gruzen Moussly Law, Eric integrates his extensive knowledge of employment law and courtroom expertise, ensuring that every client receives unparalleled representation. A fierce and strategic litigator, he vigorously advocates for his clients at all stages of litigation, including trial. A stressful, arduous and unpredictable trial is not always the best option for many clients, so Eric finds creative solutions to resolve cases and has settled hundreds of cases through mediation and direct negotiations.

Eric is highly respected by both colleagues and opponents for his integrity, preparation, and advocacy. With an unwavering commitment to workers’ rights and social justice, Eric continues to take on new cases and fight against discrimination, harassment and other injustices in the workplace. After 20 years, Eric remains as dedicated as ever to advocating for employee rights and workplace justice. He has a particular interest in representing vulnerable workers such as disabled individuals, pregnant women, immigrants, sexual harassment victims and LGBTQ individuals who have faced unjust treatment in the workplace.
